V37 The next Gen G series

I own a 2005 G35 sedan (Chassis code V35). I plan on purchasing the next Gen G Series (V37), if Infiniti does it right.

Here are some thing I would like on the next gen G:

- 3 ENGINES! Thats right three. VQ37HR for the average user, VQ25HR for the gas sippers, and VK50(V8 from FX50~390hp). All with direct injection and 7sp autos. The G50 should be the sportiest model and should compete against the 335is and Lexus IS-F

-rear head rest that adjust. My 05 has this, but the 07-2010 models dont seem to have this.

-a real BOSE radio, my 05 Blose system is garbage

-19" rims for sport package

-and also, axles that dont click, frame that doesnt creek, compression rods that dont pop, and interior that doesnt rattle.

Honda Accord
V8 powered G shouldn't be competing with 335, but rather compete with M3s.

There is a lot more to the M3 that just power.

Infiniti needs to stay profitable. So they should use engines they already have over here. VK50 + direction injection should put it around 410-420hp. The VK56VE going in the new M56 is going to be rated at 420hp so these leaves little room for the VK50.

In my opinion the VQ37hr is out classed by the BMW N54 and N55 engines. They make just as much hp, alot more torque down low, are very smoth and quiet. Not to mention a simple chip or ECU tune cau get you up to the 400hp level.

i don't think nissan will shoehorn a v8 in anytime soon to compete with the pony cars HP-wise. prolly just be DFI, a bigger v6 or small twin turbos as upgrades, in that order of likelihood/progression. I'm not sure, do the g37's already have DFI?

Nope. I don't know what the hang up has been either. It would address the MPG compliants with this car, take away the need for premium, and it would add 15-20hp. I guess they just want to leave their options open.

A G50 would be great. The only things they'd have to do is either extend the nose slightly to compensate for the engine length and increased radiator size. They've already got a tranny that can hold the power, the 7 speed sequential from the GTR. A 3,800lb G50 (probably a $55K car) would easily match the acceleration of the IS-F and M3. I say why not? It wouldn't take much engineering to pull it off plus Nissan knows how to setup a chassis, unlike Lexus.

Everyone is moving towards smaller displacement with direct injection and turbo/superchargers to meet upcoming CAFE mpg requirements. Infiniti is late to the game. I definitely think they should offer 2 engines. One around 250 hp for the masses and another around 350 hp for the enthusiast. Hopefully for the next redesign.

I thought about it more in depth, and I don't think we will see a v8 ever...it would be after a G with DFI and after they churn out a slightly boosted twin turbo v6 (like the bmw 335i). Then and only then would they consider a v8 G-series (like bmw has the M3). HOWEVER the nissan GTR would HAVE to be discontinued for that ever to be done.

An AWD in 6MT would be nice too! Nissan, get your act together and see what BMW and Audi have to offer!

It wouldn't be nice, it should be the only ones build...who the hell wants a 7 speed slush box anyways? If anything have the (autos) all be dual clutch for the pussies who don't want a manual.
