Again, it's just a rumor. The FT-86 would be a major flop if it was released under the Scion badge.

Toyota FT-86 Could Get 305-HP Subaru WRX STI Engine
Previewed in concept form, the upcoming Toyota FT-86 was introduced as a budget sports car inspired by the Corolla AE86 and using a low-powered Subaru boxer engine capable of around 200-hp. Now, reports suggest that with increased development costs Toyota has decided to take the project further up-market, opting instead to run the WRX STI’s 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, producing a significant 305-hp.

That motortrend representation is way off from what infiniti has released with its brush-stroke tease (via autoblog):
Notice how the front windshield approaches the front bumper all the way to the upper tangent of the fender, that is not something you would see from a rwd layout, especially a rwd infiniti which tends to have a nice long hood for the front mid-ship chassis design they use. The infiniti tease is also more typical hatch-back ala Focus 5-door whereas the motortrend design looks more like 370Z hatch style. The motortrend design is like what others have pointed out, a mashed up Essence.
Best guesses on the autowebs are leaning towards FWD, possibly AWD and it will be based on the Versa, Sentra or Juke while offering more luxury and technology akin to Infiniti. In my opinion, an Infiniti influenced Juke that is less Jukey is a cool idea and it goes along well with Infiniti's lineup of offering multiple drivetrain configurations with performance AND luxury being a key role.
