Is this a true statement?
Is this a true statement?
I searched but I guess I don't know the proper keywords. I was watching this lame burnout in a G35C - not the car's ability but the driver's - and one of the comments declared this:
"Well, this car has a saftey feature that kills the throttle by 90% when the brake is applied. The car could very easily spin thewheels but the switch ECU wouldnt let it. It is a black plug connected to the top of the brake pedal. There is two wires on this plug and one controls this safety. You c an put in an inline switch to turn this on and off. Research it. Go do it. Happy tire Smoking! Nissan/Infiniti cars and trucks all have this featur e."
Is this true? If so, that would probably explain the bog that some members have experienced upon brake torquing at the track. Or is this just a way out there statement?

I have noticed the throttle being cut back by the breaks on my 6mt.
Here is a test you can do. Roll allong in say 2nd gear and apply the breaks and throttle at the same time - just apply the breaks enough that they are barely grabbing - hardly enought to slow you down if you were coasting. Then floor the car. It will accelerate away but barely. Then let go of the brakes while keeping it floored. The car will take off at full throttle. You will be able to tell that the throttle was not fully open when the brakes were on. Remember just barely push the brakes - just enough to cause a very gentle deceleration.
This is on my 03 6mt coupe. I have no experience with other years/models.
