As for the "A Jaguar is a Ford" analogy, that's not apples to apples. Nissan doesn't simply own another long-standing marque that it uses to sell completely different vehicles, it created a marque to rebadge and glorify existing Nissan vehicles for North America.
I don't mind it being a Nissan, as Nissan has made some fine cars.

I honestly woudn't be offended by his comment b/c our car is indeed a Nissan automobile. At least they are knowledgable and know that Nissan manufactures Infiniti. Some people on our board go as far as to rebadge our cars Nissan, so whats the harm?
