0-10 mph in 1st

60+ mph in 6th.
Well, driving in 6th a lot definitely helps my mpg. If I drive normal (shifting around 3k rpms with a WOT every once in a while), I manage 21 mpg. If I drive and shift below 2k rpms all the time (I just did it on the last gas tank), I got 24 mpg. That's more than an extra 50 miles to the tank. The only problem I have is when I do shift under 2k rpms for the whole gas tank, I tend to drive pretty aggressive on the next tank of gas...as I'm doing now.

Have I embellished well enough?
That's something you have to do...It comes with driving and you will need to read up on the internet...We can tell you how it's done but it's up to your driving and experience...
Your syncros are actually wearing down alot faster if you do what chilibowl explained in a 4-2 downshift...To stop wear in syncros, you not only have to revmatch, but you also have to double clutch. Most people don't double clutch because in today's modern cars, the syncros are rhobust enough to handle it. Revmatching and double clutching are two different things, a lot of people think they're the same. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manual_transmission to really learn how a manual tranny works. Pay special attention to the internals->shafts and synchromesh sections to get the lowdown on syncro shiz. I also thought they were the same thing until one of my friends enlighened me
