WTF?? 6-8 weeks w/o audio?!?!

That's what the dealership told me today! I'm having issues w/ my audio and climate control... my audio turns completely off and I can't turn it on until it feels damn ready to and with that I loose all my presets, and with the climate control, it remains (or turns on on its own) and does what ever the hell it feels like (A/C full blast, heat on low, auto, etc)

And these two problems are in conjunction together. Anyway, so $120 to diag the climate control, but they said they'd be sending my audio back to the manufacture (I've got the premium sound system) and they said it'd be 6-8 weeks before it's fixed and returned to them, and that it's several hundreds of dollars! WTF?!?! (I'm out of warranty...)

Anyone else go through this before, or am I being ripped off, or what??

If you're out of warranty you're better off just getting a DD head unit.

Also, I'm not sure if it's maybe just a wire or what is going on. Remember, it's not just the audio, it's also the climate control at the same time. Everything else - lights, nav, etc - work just fine.

DD = Double Din. So i'd suggest just getting a new headunit. When you get a new headunit you have to order the DD trim and the A/C unit as they are separte peice where the factory is all one peice. So you'd be killin two birds with one stone. It might be a little more expensive but well worth it IMO.

I didnt see you said you have navi. I dont know if anyone has gotten a DD HU with the stock navi.

Ya, I got nav. Would DD work with the stock nav for an 03? Also, double din... That's aftermarket? Or is that the word for the 05-06 model? Sorry, I'm not at all versed in the electronics area of the G35. lol
