My M calls for 80W90 but I'm using Lucas 75W90. I don't think it matters much.
If the brand has the exact viscocity you need, then use that.

I retrieved a bottle and the small auxhillary pump I used to do my last job:
The pumps are available at any auto/hardware store.

my car is gonna hit 2000 miles. should I change my now or wait. what will I gain from changing to amsol, mobil1 or lucas. I've heard different stories with lucas. What about royal purple (or something like that) and redline.

and I looking to get smoother shifts. and last thing. can someone do a write up on changing the rear diff oil on a G coupe 6mt

there should be a write up somewhere around the forum and 2000 miles people have done it around that area and saw a lot of metal shaving. i a at 35k so i really need to do this soon. Byt the way i switch to redline instead of amsoil.

i figure they would since it new metal in there and everything is fighting for space. So now I'm debating over redline or mobil 1. Next month i'm changing to full synetic motor oil. I figure next month, because I only drive my g on the weekends. usually less then 300 miles unless I go out

I don't have anything good to say about Royal Purple for the 6MT, so I certainly wouldn't use it in my rear diff either.

IMO, you can rule out the RP and make your choice easier.

I'm happy with the Lucas Oil in my rear diff. I'm also pretty happy with the OEM Nissan gear oil I put in the 6MT after 10 miles on Royal Purple. The plan was to use Lucas in the 6MT as well, but circumstances dictated the use of RP. My review of RP in the 6MT is right along the lines of others I had read. Our 6MT simply doesn't like it. In light of that, you won't find me trying it in the rear diff.
