AT in the US G35 same as japan's V35?

Does any one know if theres any difference between the two? Transmission wise…. Specially the automatic versions. Does the g35 have the cvt AT awell? How come I haven’t seen any gt8 (8 speed auto) versions? I live in Australia btw and we get the Japanese imports….. I have tried to search on this forum, couldn’t find any answer….any help would be appreciated…thank you!

No 8 speeds here...

TURBOTOM Sep 15, 2006 09:27 AM

I remember seeing somethin on an 8 speed G, but i think it was on a sedan....

Cazisk Sep 15, 2006 11:22 AM

hmmm is your transmission the CVT?

http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/ENVI...CVT/index.html

or is it the traditional automatic trans?

the cvt comes in 6 speed or 5 also i cant remember not just the 8 speed... (in the m mode that is)

TURBOTOM Sep 15, 2006 12:34 PM

every1 in the us has 5speed auto or 6speed manual, but i know there is a cvt trans in japan, i think it only comes in a sedan though

Cazisk Sep 15, 2006 01:15 PM

ok so the trans in the US is only the normal AT not the cvt?
hmm i need to know this so i know wether what i've been reading on this forum about force induction and AT is actually relevant or not to me lol.

thanks heaps for the input btw guys :)

Maxima in the USA features a CVT auto tranny. But I don't think Nissan has developed a RWD CVT yet.

If Nissan AU is showing THIS pic as the engine http://www.nissan.com.au/maxima/imag...ormance_01.jpg I don't think it's RWD. That is a FWD intake manifold. I could be wrong

Cazisk Sep 15, 2006 02:09 PM

hehehe nope
i've driven the car and is driving one now too, its rwd =)

Jeff92se Sep 15, 2006 02:10 PM

Can you get a picture of the engine bay? thanks

According to wikipedia, the australian maxima is FWD.

No such thing. Mercedes has 7 speed transmission since last year model and Lexus said it will have world's first 8 speed soon. Not Nissan/Infiniti. Not anytime soon.

excluesiveonez Sep 17, 2006 12:49 AM

why did they give the new max 6 speed but not the g35
