Oil...Debate!

if you drive conservatively and regularly change your oil every 3k, conventional oil will do just fine...
but
if you like to push your car and get every ounce of performance out of your engine, then synthetic is tha way to go...lubricates much better than reg oil oh yeah and it lasts longer (i change my synth every 5k, and even that is kinda soon)

Ummm...you have proof that synthetic is definitely better? Check out bobisthoilguy.com. Its a site dedicated to motor oil. Many people have done oil analysis on their oil. There have been oil analysis that show conventional dino oil actually produces less wear than synthetic oil on the same car and vice versa.
Each car/engine responds differently. Only way to know what oil is best for your car is to do an oil analysis after each oil change. Conventional oil can be just as good if not better for certain cars. It's generally cheaper too.

Synthetic is great, thats what I use. However unless you track the car or have sever conditions a Conventional oil is just fine. Dont be fooled regular oil isnt far behind.
I would also suggest german Castrol syntec 0w-30 (autozone only) Its a much better oil then mobile 1 (thicker). Alot of Used oil anaylsis I have seen on the 350z/G35 with mobile 1 5w-30 show high lead content. Mobile 1 5w-30gets really thin close to a 20 weight and German Castrol Syntec is close to 40w. Check out this german castrol syntec report, the oil was run for 7,100... the oil can go 10k no problem.

here is one on a 350z using Castrol syntec 5w-30 (usa made), its runs a bit thinner then the German Castrol 0w-30 and isnt a true synthetic (made from a differnt base stock) but you can get a 5 quart jug of this stuff at walmart for $20.

I used to run Mobile 1 but thanks to BITOG no more.... Its a great oil but others are better on our engine.

One has to keep in mind that just because dino oil appears to be allowing less wear does not mean that it is. Why? Because the wear metals have to be in the sample in order for them to be analyzed.
It is generally accepted that synthetics "last" longer than dino. This is because the additive packages can be more aggresive and a higher percentage of the total due to the superior properties of the base stocks.
This means that more active dispersant/detergent activity holds contaminants in solution better so they dont settle on internal parts and are flushed out with the oil change.
So, guys that get their panties all wet when they see a low wear number with their dino oil are not realizing that a significant amount of the metals are still coating their oil pan. Their analysis looks good for bragging rights, but I wouldn't want to look inside their engine in 100K unless they are diligent about the 3K interval.
Synthetic lubricants were developed due to the limitations of petroleum. And who the heck wants to change oil at 3-4K anyway? With syn, you can double or triple your OCI and more than make up for the price difference in labor and time alone. Dino? WTF are people thinking?
