Question about mixing oil weights
So I accidentally got 10W30 Mobil 1 full synthetic... It's already in the car. I really should have got 5W30, I know. Can I drain one quart and put in a quart of 0W20 Mobil 1 to "balance it out"? Opinions? Car will be driven aggressively, year round, in southwest Virginia.
Thanks,
Mike

0w20 is a bad choice since the hot viscosity is 20, not 30 like for both 10w30 and 5w30. Anyways, alot of people run 10w30 instead of 5w30 since it requires less additives to achieve that greater range of viscosities. You will have no problems running 10w30, and in fact I run a blend of 10w30 and 5w30
Ok, so if anything, i'll add 5w30 to it if I need to top it off. But it sounds like i'm fine anyway. Ok thanks for the info.
By the way, my G burns NO oil whatsoever. I drove it like I stole it starting at about 200 (two hundred) miles, and still do.

Interesting. What year is your car? Coupe or Sedan? Manual or Automatic? How many miles do you have on it now?
I ask because I've heard that the oil burning was specific to sedans and manuals, but I think I noticed it too on my Auto.
