My car was baptised today by covina police department.

Well let me start off by saying that my weekend sucked ballz, cuz my hatch wont start after swapping the motor. I have to check all the electrical. but anyways.

I'm coming home from work today on foothill blvd, in covina Right as you pass azusa pacific university, there is this long curve on foothill. Well I guess during the curve I got on the gas. For those of you that know the area (its by the taco bell, kfc, arby's)

Apparently there was a covina p.d. at the Arby's restraunt. I don't remember going that fast, but in this car the speed goes up kinda fast with out too much effort. Well I make a right on citrus ave, and I think I go about 2 lights where I pass a camero ss, I just noticed this car out of everyone else for some reason. I changed lanes in the middle of the intersection to get past him. Well right after that I notice a cop car about two cars back. Well the two idiots in front of him move over so that the cop isn't behind them. So he pulls up behind me at the next light. I feel it coming so I take off slow, (I didn't want him to hear the hks exhaust.) As I take off the he throws on the blue and red lights. I pull over right away. take off my seatbelt, turn off the car, turn off the radio, and pull my wallet out.

He comes over and asks for my id,insurance, and registration. I'm looking for my id, and cant' find it. I have 2 of them in my wallet. My old one with my old address (it has a hole punched into it by the dmv) So i give him that one, tell him I just moved and left my other id out of my wallet. He asked for regristration, and I reach for the sticker on the window. He says that fine and doesn't make me take it off. He asks if I have insurance and say yes and open the glove box.

This is where my day got better.
Him: "He asked do you know why i pulled you over"
Me: "Cuz I change lanes in the intersection" (and had a confused look on my
face"
Him: "No its cuz you passed by kinda quick by Arby's then picked up more
speed. You were moving along to 50 - 60 mph before you let off....
How long have you had this car"
Me: "I just got it."
Him : "Look I'm gonna do something for you. Now I know this is a new car for
you. I'm gonna run your license and check that its good."

So I watch him go to his car and call in the license. He comes back and say "Look, everything is ok with the license, now I'm gonna let you off with a warning. This car is new to you, and I know you have to get used to the power of the car. It's very nice and you should be careful out there. You were picking up speed fast. These cars should not be taken lightly and that they are pretty quick." then he asks if the car was stock.

I pause for a second and almost let him know about the exhaust, but I say just the cf hood and rims. He says its a very nice car and then says to keep it under control cause the sound made by the car's exhaust is going to attract alot of attention . I thank him to letting me off and I apologize. He says be careful again.

on a side note. I have the status autodesign plates and my window sticker says I got the car like 3 months ago, I have the plates but just haven't put them on. Not in a big rush to do it. When I was taking off he waited for me to go, i guess to hear the car take off ...

I am releved to say the least. this kinda made my week so far. even with all the bad stuff that has happened so far.

From the back you car clearly see the dual exhaust canisters. and he thought they were stock

overall he was a very nice and pleasant cop (I haven't ran into too many of those.)

I grew up in Covina, I never had a problem at all with the police there.
Most were real cool, like the one you meant. Be careful with the CHP.

Yeah they are pretty nice, but stay the hell away from West Covina. They are known for giving out stupid tickets, expecially for modified exhaust. I got a ticket for my exhaust when the cop followed me through a tunnel. The very same day my friend get's hit with the same thing. I got my exahust tested and barely passed, but I got my cert and had the ticket dropped. A few weeks later my lil bro was driving my car and get's pulled over for the same thing, he gives the certificate and the cop comes back with a ticket for not signaling a lane change, funny thing is that the only lane change made by him was to pull over for the cop and he signaled aways.

Here's info on how to fight those exhaust tickets:

I went through the exact same process at the same location. Remember to have your car fluids all topped off, the civic that was shedulaed after me didn't get tested cause he oil was low.
