Comfort Control Help

So I just got my new G35 Sedan (06) and am having concerns about the temp controls. In my wife's Honda you can set the temp to AUTO and then set the temp you want the inside of the car to be. That's cool right? So in my car, whenever I hit the AUTO button the A/C automatically comes on as well even if I set the temp HIGHER than it is outside, etc...In other words, I want it warmer in the car but the A/C light always comes on? Anyone else see this?

Thanks,
Chris

From: Trolling a forum near u.... (T.O.)
all cars do this. the a/c removes the humidity from the air. it also alows u to defrost the windows properly. it was the same in my acura, cooper and corvette. if u don't want it on... u can just tap the a/c button... and it will turn it off yet keep the system on auto.

Thanks for the response. Not "all" cars do this as the Honda we have does not but it is good to know it is normal. My issue is that it is blwoing cold air when the heat should be coming on. That really seems busted to me. For example, I set the car for 74 today when it was cooler inside the car and the A/C came on. Am I missing something? Brrrr...

I never use the auto temp thing, the fan is always on too high.

If you hit the A/C button while the Auto is on, it will still be Auto without using the A/C.

i have a 98 jeep grand cherokee 5.9 limited and you can hit the damn ac button all you want when its in auto... it flashes off then right back on. i finally just admited to myself that the car is smarter than i am, and i am going to let it to what it wants to in auto

Having the "A/C" on does not automatically mean cooler air. It is running the compressor which takes mosture out of the air.

I agree on the humidity comments. The owners manual mentions the same thing.
