Replacing LED in spoiler, stuck.. am i f-ucked?
Hey well today i finally got a replacement LED strip from ebay and I took the one in the spoiler out and was able to disconnect the wires from taking out the screws in the trunk lid, but now i am having trouble getting the wire into the trunk. I thought about taking the spoiler off and that it would be easier like that, but i searched and it said it was double stick tape.. so i was like negative on that. The local infiniti dealership is so unreliable, i took it to them last time to remove my thrid break light and they disconnected the trunk!!! that still doesnt work.. but luckily the thing on my remote works. So should i take it to the dealer or is there some way to get the wire down there.. any help would be appreciated
thanks!
thanks!
It would help more if I could see a picture of where you're getting stuck trying to feed the wire from the new LED. You should've just cut the old wires close to the old LED and then taped it to the wires of the new LED and just pulled it all through. But thinking that you're beyond that, you'll have to find some kind of stiff wire to fish it through - something stiff yet bendable like a wire hanger but not as stiff as a wire hanger.
I personally keep a long roll of the 10 guage wire from radio shack for "fishing" through holes. Anyway, once you get the "fish" wire, just feed it from the inside of your trunk lid towars the spoiler. Then tape the new LED wires to the "fish" wire and pull it through. It sounds more complicated than it really is.
As for your trunk not working but your remote still being able to pop the trunk, look in your glovebox. There is a switch on the lower left inside your glovebox, flick it and your trunk button will start working. Dealership probably played a prank on you. lol

Unherd.. i wish i would have done that; it was only once i pulled it out that i realized i made a mistake and should have put the wires together. I will probably just have to take the **** to infiniti and thanks for the thing about the glovebox, that is probably the problem and I will check up on that once i get in the car..
ljn, i contacted the guy from spoiler depot, its for the coupe, and it was 20 dollars, 8 dollars shipping
