I think my mechanic is giving me a bunch of crap

Last week it was raining pretty hard and I lost control of my G and ended up in a ditch. The thing is it all happened very smoothly and I did not feel any impact or hear anything that would make me think that the underside of the car hit anything.

I got the car out and there is absolutely no damage that I could see except for the front bumper. I took it to get checked out anyway, and the mechanic told me that there was some "structural damage" from when he looked under the car. I didn't see it when he had it lifted up, but before I had taken it there I had stuck my head under there to try to see anything and it seemed fine except for the fact that it was covered with mud. I have driven the car and it drives perfectly fine, so I don't know if the mechanic is lying to me or not.

If the car drives fine, then is there any way that there could be some major damage that is not affecting the drivability right now but could possibly cause problems in the future?

most of the time if you have frame damage it is not noticeable by the eye it need to go on a frame machine where it is measured for correct geometry

I agree that you should get at least one more opinion. I'm assuming that the underside is now clean since your original mechanic did his assessment???
