Why are the old post pics messed up?

Why is it that when you go back to older threads where people attached pictures some links don't work where as others are scrambled and all weird? Is it just my PC or what?

server cleanup... may have distorted some of them

the move to the new forum server software corrupted some pics.
I remember they tried to keep as much as possible but it was unavoidable
