And you are assuming the person with the 6MT can launch properly. In any case, it will still come down to a driver's race every single time.

But really though, no offence to the OP, but this thread is a little ridiculous. Who really cares if the Sedan is faster than the Coupe, or vice versa.

If u hope that then u WILL lose to every automatic u race. 6MT will NOT be faster by itself. There has to be a proper driver behind the wheel. If not automatic will win 100% of the time.

I know that through the years, the g35 has changed it's specs frequently. But after some browsing around...CarAndDriver, has the following specs:

2003 G35 Sedan...3480lbs....260hp

2003 G35 Coupe...3485lbs....280hp

Correct me if i'm wrong, but 2003 models, the sedan had nothing else but 260hp, i'm not sure what year but they eventually adapted the 280hp later on....then the 298hp, etc.

it does not have 260 hp and the coupe does not have 280 hp. Both of them have about 270-275 crank hp. That 280hp vs 260hp is a marketing thing for the dealers.

The specs I have for the 03' 6MT sedan say it weighs 3398lbs fully loaded.

^ The thing about the numbers that I've found is that they vary. Which I found ridiculous cause even the weight of the car is different on different sites. Oh and no offense taken but my friend has a chevy camaro and we were talking about g's and he goes the coupe is faster than the sedan and should weigh more then I go nope the sedan weighs less and people say that the sedan is faster. So that's how the bet began.

That is so misleading on the part of the dealer. Wouldn't that fall in the realms of false advertising?

^it would but i can't imagine someone actually taking the time and doing a crank dyno both on a coupe and sedan and actually follow through with a law suit for only 5-10 hp difference.

I always thought auto have a slight edge at launch. Correct me if I'm wrong?
When I had my 92 maxima which was auto...I would press the gas steadily it would go...but if I floored it seemed that It wouldn't have the same pick up, as when pressed steadily but hard. Do most auto's work like this?
