Sir, you fail to understand that the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act provides that all military personnel have certain entitlements. One of those entitlements is that no state can force a servicemember to change tags or driver's licenses simply because that person lives in a certain state. I'm a California resident living in Nevada. I have Nevada plates, Nevada insurance and an Arizona drivers license. I work with many individuals that have out-of-state plates on their cars with an out-of-state drivers license and local insurance. It's all legal. Either scenario is fully allowed. It's a federal entitlement. Cops know that as well.

Your civilian laws mean nothing to me! Bwahahaha!

the CA regs I posted were specific to Military (clearly written)...

This topic is not worth the debate.

Wow, really? You can't have a convo with someone without acting like that? I bet you're one of those guys that has to be right. Ok, fair enough. back to plates then. By the way, what you posted supported everything I wrote.

If I put CA tags on the car I must meet CA laws. But nowhere in there does it say I (the military member) have to register my car there. All I have to do is walk in to DMV with a copy of orders for my assignment and I pay tag fees only (no taxes of any kind). Or!!!!! I can leave my out-of-state plates on so long as I follow the laws of the state my plates are registered in.

Nice try hot shot.

Often, actually, you can get out of a ticket because the police officer writes down the wrong tag number. Also, if racing, no one will ever see your tag correctly. This optical illusion works. Trust me, Im a pro. Think about it.
best post
i know what my next plate will be

how do you conclude that I have to be right?... I clearly said its not worth the debate (that's how much I dont care about the subject)... as for "right", I didn't write the regulations that I posted for you - so take your squabble to the people that did... I posted what the written law says - take it or leave it, but stop your whining about it.

You missed a spot for highlighting. You missed the part where what you posted supported what I said. All that jibberjabber you copied from that there CA DMV site you somehow misinterpreted. No whining here. You were the one that came back saying they can mess with the military servicemembers with OOS plates. I'm telling you they can't. What you copied also said that in so many words. The person that asked the question would be left alone since he's within the laws you copied and posted.

Wait I get it! I know what you're doing! You're still trying to find new, interesting ways to up your post count. Man you almost had me duped into helping you out. Man, that was close. Just because I don't have a big number under posts and a date before 2006 as being a member doesn't mean I don't know stuff. I don't have to prove to you either what I know.

I'm sure you have weird ways of entertaining yourself. Well I have a blast entertaining arguments with knuckleheads on car forums that like to argue for the mere sake of arguing. That was repetitive. See what you made me do! You made me repeat myself. I hate repeating myself. I hate it!

Lol! 13,657 more posts to go till I'm as cool as you.

I heard of a trucker that got in some serious trouble by using one of those. Not discouraging you from using it if you have good intentions, like cleaning up the front for a show or something. This trucker was running through toll booths back east and hid the plate to keep from being found with the camera shots. A trooper discovered it during a routine stop or something. Can't remember the full story.

Lol! I could picture the cop doing a doubletake when you mouth off to him with that comment. You really got him when he's coming at you, flip a U turn to stop you and then you show him the plate was there. Lol!
