Exclamation First post, first poll (Help a brother out)

I'm about to purchase a G35 coupe but can't really decide on the colors/options. I do prefer Ivory Pearl, unfortunately all the dealers I've contacted can't locate a IP 6MT with navi.

This is what they have, what would you guys take ?

These are all 2007 models:

Ivory Pearl - 6MT, Black interior with no navi
Obsidian Black - 6MT, Black interior with no navi
Diamond Graphite - 6MT, Black interior with navi (loaded)

Also, would it be possible to add a navigation unit later on ? Is so, how much would the dealer charge.

Thanks a lot !

I recommend getting the color that you want. You can always go aftermarket with a better and cheaper navi anyways.

dealer will charge u minimun 2k to put in stock infiniti navi which is not even on par with many aftermarket systems...apparently it is very complicated to put navi in a non-navi equiped coupe

Get the Ivory Pearl if thats the one you want. i wouldn't worry to much about navi because you can always add an aftermarket one later on down the road.

I think he means that in order to put the AVIC-D2.. he has to get the harness, and the din, and so on. As, opposed to the stock navi, which is "boom sucka".. right there. hah.

I thought the same thing when I had to find out that I had to get a double din, with the A/C wiring harness.. the steering wheel control harness.. the seatbelt harness.. the single section antenna harness.. the control lock pedal harness that attaches to the harness that locks onto the trunk button so that you could watch the DVD while driving harness.. aside from the disabling the right mirror movement adjustment harness that enables the navi screen to actually fit into the din while the installers sweat all over your interior harness.

ahhaha that's tight.. ^^^.. just scaring the OP.

LOL... Funny, but true. Hey, do you have the "no rattle in your G" harness. Mine is missing that one.

Just get the color you want and if you can't get it from that dealership that you're looking at they should be able to locate one for you with exactly what you want from another dealership and trade cars if they have to, that's what I had to do to get my car.

Aftermarket Navigation and satellite radio are much better and more functional than the stock units. They also cost a heck of a lot less. I understand that theres just something is appealing about having it factory installed. I do own a DG loaded. In my other cars i have aftermarket nav's and aftermarket satellite radio and i like them better in the other cars. In the G it is a "cool" factor having a pop up screen though. Problem with aftermarket is they have suction cups to windshield, wires for power, etc.

But in terms of money, i would get the color you want and get the aftermarket stuff later. For instance... touch screen nav which works great is under 300 bucks. A sat radio with memory, fav artist alert, etc is 100 bucks. Factory is 2k and 400. sooo think... 400 Vs 2400?

I've contacted 3 different dealers. None were able to offer me a IP 6MT with navi. One of them called me this morning telling me they found a OB/BLK 6MT with navi. I might take it. So it's down to DG or OB.

The problem with a dark car (in my case black) is that it's very hard to tell mods on the car, not very noticeable. Ex. imagine a black G withe the Kenstyle rear (CF) and then imagine a IP with the same rear (also CF) ...now there's one of the sexiest asses out there

I'm partial to DG + stone. That's what I have.

I'm also willing to bet this gets moved to the polls forum.
