no chirp :((

ok, this is weird, i got an IP 07G coupe, and i just finished breaking it in (long trip from Virginia to Connecticut and back), and i finally pushed it in first. I started out at like 10 mph and pushed it all the way thru second and third. For some reason, when i shifted into second, it didn't chirp at all, and i shifted pretty hard. VDC was off. Do u guys think someone played around with my car before i bought it (got it with 10 miles on it)? cuz i remember about 3 months ago when i was test driving another G, it chirped. I am thinking may be someone at the dealership did some "fun" launches or smth in it. Or is this normal?

You're probably just not shifting it the same way, or maybe the tires are grippier. Not sure.

they test drive the cars off the line, then there is shipping...10 miles is nothing...you just dont know how to drive

This could be true since you are driving a brand new car, not one that has been beaten buy the test drivers.

Try doing an ECU reset. You're ECU is probably in grannie mode because of the break-in period style of driving.

hahaaha Simple answer.

And yea, looks like your G is going to need a new clutch and transmission pretty soon, with the way you sound like you are going to be driving.

Infiniti School of Driving has a class Chirpping 101.
That is probably the best route to go for you.

Was the chirp on your test drive the deciding factor in purchasing the G or was it your butt meter going off the hook ?

Why would you want to chrip your tires...? If thats what your trying to get across. Trying giving it full gas and then let the clutch out that might make them "chirp"

It might be the type of road condition too, ...the type of paving. You need to get on a nice smooth asphalt paving, ones with little dirt and debris. Or better yet, if you can find yourself an indoor basketball court, i bet you that'll get you chirpin on all gears

Nismo

That's a great idea dude. He'll either get that chirp he's look for or blow out something from the clutch pedal all the way to the rear axle.... np. Now take it into the dealership. Dunno wtf happpened mista service writer. It just stopped moving. Is it under warranttee.....

Obviously his car got grip which we want. Take it to the track if you want to hear chirp through the gears.

lol guys no need to flame really. No chirping wasn't my deciding factor, and no i dont plan on abusin the **** out of the car, i just wanted to take it to redline and shift thru some gears to see how it picks up compared to my 328is. gotta admit some of the comments were kinda funny.

anyway, yeah now that i think about it it might ve been the road conditions (it was a small remote road that just got paved and was free of any debris). The tires do grip well, which i love. Thanks for all the constructive critisism, and thnx for the jokes, some made me laugh.
