he prob means anywhere in the intake - at the airbox, at the TB and the location you are asking... just be sure everything is buttoned up... I think you would have other issues though if there was a substantial enough leak.

First of all you should here it... also I would think the car would have symptoms other than what you have described... I'm not going to play the what would happen if this happened game... the question is - are there any other symptoms other than 3K rmp at 70mph?... since you don’t know what your idle rmp was prior to the install I don’t know if your issue is the same as mine. I idle at 300. When I had the problem I described, the fix was what I offered.

Other than that - I can't offer a solution, sorry.

I remembered one more thing. Two days after putting Ztube/Pop I dropped it at the dealer for a power window issue. When I got the car back and got on the highway the engine felt really loud. I stopped and checked the intake and .. but didn't notice anything. Next time I started the car, the loudness was gone. But as I explained in my first post yesterday I suddenly noticed the same annoying loudness going 70mph at 3k rpm. I dont get annoyed by nice and loud engine sounds but the that sound was quite harsh and its source felt really close to my ear.

2007 G35 Coupe AT and MT gear ratios and final drive ratios:

----5 A/T----6 M/T Gear ratio s (:1 )
1st 3.540 ----3.794
2nd 2.264 ----2.324
3rd 1.471 ----1.624
4th 1.000 ----1.271
5th 0.834 ----1.000
6th-----------0.794
Reverse 2.370 ----3.446

Final drive ratio (:1) AT / MT
3.357 3.538

My 2007 AT coupe revs 3,000rpm's at 70 mph.

The AT and the MT won't read the same rpm at the same speed.

John

Well I did all the different ECU and idle resets. Now I idle at the same 550 rpm. But the rpm is 2800 at 70 mph and 3000 at 80 mph. Seems like the Ecu reset stuff helped. Thanks!

Unless your tach needle or speedometer needle broke, no mod is going to change your RPM's at a certain speed. There are a fixed amount of teeth in the gear so there is only one possible RPM to be at for a certain speed unless you actually change the gear itself, the final drive ratio, or the overall diameter of the wheels. Intake, ECU reset, turbos, camshafts, whatever will not change your engine speed at a given speed.

Makes sense. It also makes sense that only the RMP at idle is a matter of debate becuase no gear is engaged. Thanks for clarifying it.
