Engine speed at 70mph

My engine speed at 70mph stays at 3000 rpm. Is this around normal ? Btw I have Ztube/Popcharger on a 5AT.

That seems pretty high. Mine is at 3000rpm at 80mph, but i drive a MT. I don't know if that's normal for a AT. what do you drive?

Hmm.. I have a slight feeling this is due to the new intake I installed ( Ztube/Pop). I've also checked the new install and everything looks fine and tight. Unfortunately I dont remember exactly how it was with the stock intake setup. How about the rpm of you 5AT owners with Ztube/Popchagr ?

I have CAI w/Z-tube... I posted mine above... your intake isn't affecting your rmps.

OP, when you installed you intake - did you happen to clean the throttle body or MAF sensor?.... Or even move the TB plate?

The reason I ask is the last time I had my intake off and cleaned everything (and swapped plenums and some other stuff)... my idle was real high - very high for my car... check engine light came on, rmp were outa whack... ECU reset fixed it all.

So even though the intake itself isn’t causing it, I guess it could be from the install (depending on what you did). what is you idle RMP?

is that higher, lower, or the same as it's always been?... I can't imagine it was ever any (or much) higher... Yours is a bit higher than mine but that doesn't mean it would affect your 3k rmp at 70mph especially lower than norm... what was your rmp at 70 prior?

Unfortunately I did'nt pay attention to the RPM prior to installing new intake because everything felt normal. But now going at 70mph on the highway definitely feels like theres more engine noise. Something i noticed is when I idle there are sometimes a very very slight fluctuation in the idle RPM, but enough see it.

by no means am I an expert, but like I said - the last time my intake was off (I did a bunch of stuff) my idle was much higher than norm and therefore the entire rmp were higher in normal driving condition. There is an "Idle Air Volume" ECU reset which is actually Throttle Position Learning - it didn’t fix my prob, but you might want to try it... and/or do the standard ECU Accelerator Pedal Reset Procedure (that's what finally got mine to norm - or it could have been the combo of the two I guess)... Here’s the Idle Air Volume Learning procedure (it’s out here in the forum somewhere too, it’s just easier for me to attach this than look for a link):
