IMO I would rather own a 298hp car stock that looks like the G, than a Subaru Sti with 300 hp that looks like, well a SUBARU! No offense to the Subaru owners out there, but that's just not my taste. Not to mention, have you seen the interior of a Sti or Evo?? Both in a higher hp class, and definitely a different breed of driver. But once you add mods (most ppl here seem to keep the G long enough to personalize it), I think the G is kinda stand alone. Enough get-up and go to keep the addiction fired up, nice enough interior, very nice lines. To me those are the reasons I bought this car. I will worry with the rattles and ticks when I need to. Sure, you could buy a 335i or an IS F, for $10k more and higher ins.
This of course is IMO. No offense to anyone I just slandered.

definitely the interior is one of the top reasons i love my g
watching the rpm needle spike
the stock exhaust (it sounds like a damn maserati)
having no spoiler
the option to turn VDC off
and how the driver seat hugs me so perfectly.
.. theres just too much to list

I love a lot of things about my G. My old daily driver was an e36 m3 and I never thought I'd love another car as much, however I love so many more things about my G driving I don't miss driving my bimmer at all.
The things I love most:
The profile of the car, especially from the rear
The sound of the Engine/Exhaust
The Interior quality and design
The built in bluetooth
and of course the perfromance!

nissans are incredibly reliable and very safe.
however the exterior of the 370z, imo, is horrendous.
its the front of a GT-R and the rear of a porsche cayman.
and for the price and the expectations of people, the hp
had better be decent...ive read it may be disappointing.

i'd keep your G if you love it that much

Driving downtown with windows down and sunroof open at 2800-3500 rpm, hearing that exhaust note echo still gets me hot and bothered after 2 and a half years.

........and daily doses of redline

Our G is my wife's daily driver, and before this she had an 06 Mini Cooper S. So I feel like we aren't driving half a car anymore!

05 G35x:

The 5AT seems to provide just the right amount of torque no matter what speed you are when you hit the throttle. Shifting is fast and deliberate, as well as smooth. The autostick function is fun to play around with...gives a much more sporty feel and almost makes you forget you have 4 doors.

Factory suspension is great. Soaks up a wide range of bumps/dips/holes. I drive an hour each way to work (only 3 times per week) and I always look forward to the drive. Even the repetitious ba dum ba dum ba dum of the joints in the Interstate concrete are hardly noticable.

Keyless entry/keyless start. The little black button beside the driver/passenger door handles comes in very handy. I keep the keys in my backpack and never have to take them out to unlock the doors!

The G, sedan or coupe, looks like it should cost more than it does. Refined, yet aggressively sporty lines are eye-catchers from any angle. Everything flows nicely.

Since Nissan/Infiniti uses the VQ35 for many applications aftermarket support is phenomenal. Especially since the 350z blew up the scene there's tons of mods for these cars.

I could go on forever about what I love about the G35...if you don't own one, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

I would like to see this thread stay above the "hate about your G" thread.
So, I am adding...hehehe:
I love this forum, which I could be a member even if I didn't have my G, but would lose sleep @ night looking at everyone elses.
AND I love the way my toddler is absorbing my addiction to my G and always asking to "ride in momma's new tar" which I happily oblige.

That's what I do, I don't own one yet But I know exactly what I'm gonna do to it and how much I'm gonna love it. I can't wait

Seriously the coupes exterior is timeless. It's weird how it seems more advanceded then some newer cars, yet so aggresive and simple. Before I even knew about cars at all, back when i was 13, the bus used to drive past a G35 coupe on the way to school, parked in the same place every morning. I would stare at it and drool without even realizing it, kinda like seeing your soulmate 5 years before you meet her

DarkstarI like the way you think. And I agree 100%. Once you go G, you never go back.
