How is the NAVI?

I'm planning to get a G35, but i don't know if i want one with a navi or not. My friend has the 04 G35 coupe, and had told me that the navigation is not that good and she has to stop before you can use the navi. Is that true or is that just for the earlier model, please let me know.

The navi is excellent. I've had one in all my Infinitis and loved them all.
ONly certain functions are locked out while moving.......- the basics are still functional.
Get one - you'll love it.

The navi is good, the GUI isn't the best in the world ( looks like windows 3.1 ), but I don't know if they changed that on the newer models... I have an 04.

If you can find one without navi for a good price, just get it and get aftermarket navi

But yeah, while driving you can only do quick things like, set a pre-defined destination or check gas mileage, just little things... But when you're stopped it's fully active, etc.

its nice to have but i have to tell you that its really a pain in the azz to use. the old analog input takes forever.

i like the new design on the 07 sedan. touch screen and a lot more user friendly.

on our 06, we have to manually move a little joy stick to input a name or street address. a lot of the time, u miss a letter/number because of the joystick.

but its nice when u get it working. also gives you extra such as gas mileage, oil change intervals and it tells u if ur trunk is open, door open, etc...

+1... I'm a big fan of the navi. I think I'll always spring for the navi option on all my future vehicles. Once you go navi, you can never go back!!

If you have a bad sense of direction ( like me ) you will enjoy it. Especially if you plan to travel on a whim.

I can't go without Navi man. I have one on my 06 and I will never go without one again. It makes life so much more simpler.

Yeah, only certain functions are disabled while driving, like programming in an address. Which it ought to be, that makes driving unsafe to do that.

Get it!!

I must say i have an 04 coupe with navi aswell and its probably the most annoying thing ive ever used. It got to a point where i dont put in adresse's no more and just keep it down cause its really retarded at most points trying to type itin with that gay little joystick. WHYYYY?! Anyways, it looks nice tho when its up and people look into ur car

and the newest Garmin ones can do traffic too.

I'm looking for a G too and I'm not going to pass on a car because it doesn't have one but if it does then that's cool.

i don't think it's worth the extra money. if it cost half as much, i'd say go for it. but since you can't program it while in motion and it's not touch screen, personally, i don't think it's worth it. those are the only real downsides of it. the graphics could be a little better (like lexus) but touchscreen and programablility at all times would make it sweet.
