Help removing A-Pillar cover

Hi all:

I'm installing a homelink rearview mirror in my non premium G35. It does not have the wire harness to connect it so I need to run the new "harness" from the mirror location to the fuse box. I tried to remove the cover of the A-Pillar but it is pretty hard and I do not want to damage it. Does anyone have some advise in how to route the wires through it? Do I really need to remove the cover?

If I need to remove the cover, any help in how to do it whitout damaging it will be appreciated.
