Something on the cost of repairs

Here's something I found pretty damn interesting on the cost of repairs on a car ....

http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com...derBender.aspx

The institute conducted a series of four low-speed crashes on 11 2007 luxury vehicles. It said the Infiniti G35, with a price tag that starts at $31,450, had the highest repair bill at nearly $14,000 in combined damage for the four tests. In one test involving the front end, the G35's bill was more than $5,000.

Have a good weekend ..... and dont crash your car

Yeah, but I saw the test on TV... They used a stationary bumper which, in my opinion was way higher than you would ever see on the road. The reason for the high cost was that the "bumper" was so high that it actually struck the G35 on the grill, causing the grill to break and then the bumper bent the hood, etc. It was pretty ridiculous. I rear ended a minivan a year or so ago. I don't know the exact speed of impact, but I would guess I was going about 5 mph with the front end pointing downward due to rapid deceleration. Barely a mark on the bumper. In fact, I haven't even replaced it since you really have to look to see the slight indentation of the license plate from the minivan. I got the car appraised at Carmax just for fun and the inspector didn't even comment on it.
