Warranty Question??

I'm reading up on all the Oil consumption threads and engine replacements, and people are saying that they just made it before there warranty expired, but shouldnt the motor be under the powertrain warranty 6yr/70k, just as well as under the regular limited 4yr/60k?
So as long as the powertrain warranty has not expired than any engine concerns with the the consumption shouldnt be a problem with dealerships right??

Thanks!
