Replacing Cup Holder Assembly 2003 G35 Sedan

Mid December, I lucked into a fantastic Red 2003 G35 Sedan that was just repossessed from someone who could no longer afford the payments. From what I can tell, the car is loaded with just about every package that was offered: Premium, Leather, Winter, Wood, and, yes, even the Navigation Package. Although the car had nearly 79,000 miles I could not say no when a dealer in Manassas offered the car for $10,995. I had the car checked out at my local Infiniti dealer and the only thing needed was 2 rear tires.
Only problem was someone had stolen the cup holder insert that slips into the compartment behind the gear shift. The dealer tells me they don't sell just the insert and that I would have to buy the entire assembly which houses the cup holder. The surface is the brushed aluminum.
Does anyone know how easy it would be for me to purchase the assembly and install it myself? I'm not really very mechanical but I'd also rather not spend the $110 an hour that the dealer will charge me. I've also considered getting the assembly from a salvage dealer (even they won't sell the cup holder alone). Thanks to all. I love this site.

Wow, your dealer must suck then. I also dont believe that what they are saying is true. My dealer changed out the insert...for free. Not bad considering that the flap inside it was kinda sticky.

The next time you bring it for service somewhere, just ask them to take a look at the holder insert.

Good luck bro.
