Is the '07 G35X worth the extra $4K over the 06' G35X? Your opinion.
I know the numbers & stats, but I want opinions.
I'm thinking of an upgrade this summer. I've got the bug.
Cheers...

the new style alone raises it's value, then you have the VQ35HR motor, way better interior, more technology, and an all around better car....

CR refuses to divulge the formulas it uses to score cars. No one else could get away with this. "This is the best one, but we're not going to tell you how we scored it."
As for the OP, consensus seems to be that the new car is much improved. But the old car retains some advantages, including a more direct "feel." Check them both out thoroughly and you'll know which is best for you.

If I remember right, Suzuki tried suing them a few years ago and their methodology was good enough to stand up in court.

The reliability ratings are based on surveying owners.
The vehicle rankings are based on road tests conducted by their staff. The surveys play not role in these rankings. Instead, their staff measure various things, then used an undisclosed formula to sum these subscores into an overall score. We can guess what they're measuring, but they refuse to disclose the specific formula.
Suzuki or Isuzu or both (can't recall off-hand) sued them over a test where they evaluated a vehicle's propensity to roll over, or a test meant to measure handling where the vehicle tipped up on a pair of wheels. This is one test within their road test. I haven't looked into it thoroughly, but opinions varied quite a bit about the validity of their test. It takes a lot for a media outlet to lose such a case in court.
