sedan vs coupe

So... for those of you owning the G35, why did you go for the sedan and not the coupe? I'm taking a hard look at both, and I have my own pros and cons in mind, but I'm curious what you all think in case I'm missing something.

BTW, first post

Its whatever your into. Looks are subjective. What I like, you may not. Either way, both are good and fast cars. Welcome

Went to buy a 6MT '06 coupe. Test drove the '07 Sport, and fell in love - it was faster, handled as well, and had all the new gadgets. Bought one a month later.

Thanks... i forgot this was vbulletin and the search actually works here.

Yeah, my dilemma is this. I love the looks of the g37. When I see the g37, I get jealous and wish I had one. However, the g35 is far more comfortable than the g37, and comfort is very important to me because I have back/neck pain.

The sad reality probably is that in the long run if I get the coupe I'll get tired of being uncomfortable and wish I had gone with the sedan. And I must say, the g35 is even more fun than the g37 to drive when you're in a proper seating position.

I just gotta hope I never see another g37 when I'm cruising along in my 35...

I personally dont like the looks of the G37. Sounds like the G35S sedan is for you. Fast, spacious and comfortable. GL with your choice

sedan is more practical, just as fast, and i like the looks better imo

to me, the coupe should be better performing instead of just being a 2 door version of the sedan...

I would have to agree with Wei, if they put the 37 on a diet it would be a much more focused performance coupe, but i guess thats what the new 370Z is suppose to be like. imho the 37 coupe looks pretty big for a 2+2. I made my decision on getting my 35S sedan knowing that I would want the convenience of the 4 door in the future, since this is my DD and only car.

- Seats are more comfortable for my aging (widening) buttocks. The sports seats are nice though, just not for me.
- Still have kids living at home so rear doors still make sense. The funny thing is I practically never let them get in the car. I use the van for them. In case you haven't noticed, kids are messy. (So are some grown ups, they don't get in my G either, lol)
- I wasn't really looking at the performance of one over the other but I must say I was pleasantly surprised when I found out how close the two styles are in that regard.
They are both beautiful cars and i'll be honest in that i'm already thinking coupe for my next purchase. (Granted I may need to go on a diet and my youngest will be 12 by then). As many have said, you can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

There are truth to these words. When the coupe first came out, it was a stunning design in a world of bland. Now, a lot of manufacturers have copied its basic shape so its not unique anymore. Unfortunately, Nissan decided to replicate that success to the Altima coupe.

BTW, the old sedan had a more controversial design than the old coupe...very polarizing. The new sedan is generally regarded as good looking.

I bought the G35 coupe as I was replacing another coupe and liked the styling. We have an SUV so space/capacity wasn't an issue. That said, I like the sedan more than other sedans and it has many positives.
