G35 Adhesive Infiniti Lettering

G35 Adhesive Infiniti Lettering
I recently bought a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe. I found out that the car was a lease return, and evidently when you return your car to the dealership after your lease is over, the car must be in the exact shape as when you bought it. So the person who was leasing it debadged the whole car, which I think looks great. The part that makes me mad is that the person glued the infiniti badge back on when he returned the car to the dealership. When I bought it, the letters were crooked, and glue was showing, so I took them back off. Now I see the glue every time I look at the back of my car.
My question is, do any of you know where I can buy the whole infiniti badge that will just stick to the car? Or do any of you have any suggestions as to how to get that glue off. Keep in mind, this person did not use regular glue, it was some sort of super glue... idiot !!!
Thanks

It depends on what glue he used.
I would start with Goof Off - little yellow can in hardware stores. Try it in an inconspicuous place first to make sure the paint won't be removed, then gently work at the glue to remove it.
Also heat might work. Dry taking a clean rag, wet it and nuke it for a minute til it gets hot. Place the wet heat on the glue and let it sit. See if the glue gets soft. Or take a hair dryer or heat gun - be careful if you use a heat gun not to get it too hot or the paint will bubble - and see if you can soften the glue to remove it.
If it's epoxy or contact cement, nothing will probably work that won't affect the paint.

sounds like you might be better off buying a new set... I've re-badged several times and cut thin 3M double sided tape to fit... it's a tedious task - this plus getting the glue off makes spending a little on new set your best bet.
If you insist on keeping the glue letters, try using an exacto knife to cut/scrape the glue from the back. I do this with the 3M it works well, glue might be different though.
The thing to consider is that any chemical/product that will take the glue off might ruin the finish on the face of the lettering if you’re not real careful.
