I just changed my oil today. i got 74 000 km.

I put in Castrol Synthetic 5w30. I wanted the 0w30 but they didn't have them in stock. With K&N oil filter.

I use Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic 5w30, it was reccomended by several places for cars with over 75k miles because it has additives that keep your rings/seals healthy.

If you're worried about warranty claims, I'd suggest still going to the dealer for oil changes seeing as how you're still under powertrain warranty...

You're probably right, but just following from your logic of why you took it to the dealer in the first place for oil changes.

Nonetheless, I believe you can still make warranty claims even if you do your own maintenance, although it's harder to prove if they dispute your record of work.

Why do I see so many people swearing by Royal Purple oil? Is there some advantage to it? Sorry, don't mean to threadjack...

check out this thread:

From what I gathered, Mobil 0-40W M1, Amsoil 5-30W, and German made Castrol syntec are the best.
