I am thinking maybe "Grand"

Because the JDM version is called 350 "GT", GT usually stands for Grand Touring -- that's my best possible guess.

I don't think it stands for anything. Think about it, that means the rest of series of Infiniti's should stand for something also

E (EX35)
F (FX35/45)
G (G20,G35,G37)
I (I30,I35)
J (J30)
M (M30,M35/45)
Q (Q45, QX4, QX56)

I do know that "X" stands for all wheel drive.

I don't know about the G, but when I was in Japan I learned what RAV and CRV were. Runabout Vehicle and Comfortable Runabout Vehicle. Gay.
