Can you get pulled over in NJ for no front plate

i went to my local body shop and they said that they cant fail a car for inspection anymore for not having a front plate on the car as a primary offense. i was just wondering if the law was changed to you cant get pulled over and more and issued a ticket for not having a plate mounted on the front bumper as the PRIMARY OFFENSE.. any help with this??

The front plate law is still in effect. Despite that silly online petition and the rumor of some Assembly person trying to force through a bill to change it. Cops can still issue a ticket for no front plates. Most won't but legally they can.

look up the penial laws for jersey....as far as i know you can get pulled over for not having a plates mounted in any state....for ex. you have it sitting in your back window or front window...like celwin said tho its all in a cops discretion just like if he gives you a ticket or not

3 YEARS WITH my S2000 without a front plate and never ticketed. BUT the cops like to tell me that as long as its visible like on the dash then your ok. just act dumb like i did. and always have it in the car. or say my car was just detailed and leave it under your seat. Or they just never noticed cept for that one time.

its always in your benefit to play dumb...unless its obvious you were wrong lol...as to being military police myself we tend to write tickets more for ppl who come out and straight lie..like no i stopped and didnt run that stop sign when were sitting right there... a lil honesty goes a long long way with cops who cannot trust anyone out there...
