is the G35 right for me? what to look for?

Hey Everyone,
I am selling my current vehicle (Jeep Grand Cherokee) and going to purchase a new car. One of my options in the G35 Sedan. How are they in terms of reliablity, maintaince costs, etc. Any problems I should look out for before purchasing? Any common problems?

Thanks,
Brendan

EDIT: Forgot to mention. I will be purchaseing this used 2003-2005.

get it checked out at an infiniti dealership

I bought a used 2003 g35 coupe and had it inspected by my local dealership for $125.00. They do a 36 point inspection for free I believe, but the pre purchase inspection is a little more involved. For example on my 2003 I bought from a private individual. The dealership noted driver door lock was going out, rear axles needed to be greased to cure noise problem and I needed new rear brake pads. The private seller knocked off $1000 for repairs! I thought the inspection was worth it.

just that annoying axle click which i have read can be taken care of pretty easy if your mechanically inclined...just realize this is a luxury sport so everything will be more pricey....another thing to look for is if it has the sports package with brembos...that will add another good chunk to brakes and such...air and oil filters are cheap just like any other car

Head to the TSB section and start reading. Most don't have all of the issues you'll see there, but it's a good place to make a watch out for list.

Good advice on the TSB list. Wish I had caught my 3rd gear grind ahead of time. Now it's time to get on the dealer to get a warranty fix.
