I have the full size spare option. How much less do you think a temporary spare weighs? Would it be worth it to switch it out and carry a temporary and store the full size to lose some weight?

Will a temp fit correctly or is there different locking and trunk mat etc. to take up the extra space?

Anybody done this?

I can't lose the spare altogether. There is some big urban construction going on the way to my office and right before I got my G I actually got 3 FLATS IN ONE WEEK! LOL... I've changed my route to work.

 

keep the fullsize one. The ammount of weight saved if not enough to justify it IMO

 

most u'll save 7pounds....

wont feel any difference becuse of the VQ, now if it was a D16(honda engin)..then yeah lol

IMO dont bother, wont improve MPG or preformace, if u really wanna know the diffrance then just grab a home scale and weigh the full size and temporary

I agree, keep the fullsize. If you're autocrossing your car and need the weight savings you could always remove the tire then.
