need feedback... Paint vs. Overlays

I am wondering what quality is better.
I am wanting to partially color black my hood and front bumper as well as my roof but am unsure which way to go around it.
I hear a good paint place is a bit better quality and wont fade as quickly but other sources say overlays are the way to go. Any1 with opinions please leave some feedback and if you know a reputible paint or overlay shop in socal (preferibly 805 or 818) it will be greatly appreciated.

Well for the roof id go 100% overlay, becasue if you dont like the look simply peel away instead of having to repaint it and wasting double the money, and as for the hood and front bumper dont know why you want to paint it black??

idk i just love how it looks on the g35 on ebay (every1 knows the dg one thats always for sale) and i thought that i would copy that look a little. I think it would look good with my grill as well and there are soo many dg's in socal i thought i might stand out a bit more than just having rims and quad exhaust.

Here is an honest opinion...I had a roof overlay and now paint. I say do it right the first time and paint it. The overlay is good short term, but if you are ****, then it will bug the hell outta you...with the overlay, you will see all the imperfections and in time, will easily scratch, swirl, etc. and there is nothing you can do about it...
