How do i get the trunk-button to with on JDM tail lights?
How do i get the trunk-button to with on JDM tail lights?
I've switched from 06 tail lights to JDM tail lights on my 06 Coupe MT.
But the harness differsfrom the two and the trunk button is not working at the moment.
Does anyone have a guide for fixing this?

I did this a long time ago, so going my memory.
JDM tails have two connectors. One large (main), one small (two wire connector). Small two wire connector is the trunk release button.
The USDM tails only have one main connector. Notice that ALL connector pins are used on 06 USDM tails. JDM connector uses all but one pin connector.
Reference the JDM tail main connector with pin NOT used to your G35's main connect that has wire to that unused JDM pin. Remember that wire or mark in wiring loom.
Go back to JDM tail small two wire connector. Choose any two wires (doesn't matter which one, as mine were both 'solid black'). Splice one wire to the wire you found/remembered/marked in G35's main wire connector earlier. Take other wire and connect to ground (I found a cluster of ground wires on a small grounding post with nut and used that)
That's it and your done.
Hope that all made sense.
