Who's gone most miles between oil changes?!?!
i'm pretty sure i win... finally did my oil change after 11,400 miles! After moving i never really had time to do it, and nobody works on my car but me, for ANYTHING! so nobody can say "why didnt you just take it in to get it changed?"
for what it's worth, i run Mobil-1 5W-30 Truck & SUV... only lost about 3/4 of a quart after all those miles!
Post up how many miles you've gone!

i was reading an article and they say the most wear on you engine due to lubrication is when you first start up the vehicle after an oil change because all the oils drained out and the new oil is just sitting at the bottom, i change my oil every 10k +/- my dad used to do the same and all of his vehicles have had stong running engines at 120k+ miles.

That's why i wasnt really worried about running past double my normal interval... I've done far more oil changes on more cars than i care to think about and atleast 90% of people go waaaaay over the sticker we put in their window and the cars keep running and running.

My sister's 1987 sentra coupe may win. She didnt change her oil from 1994-1998. During that time she commuted 78 miles each way to work. Sold it to an old boyfriend for $150. He changed the oil and a a week later the car has an electrical fire and burns to the ground.
1. AMC Gremlin in the late 70s and early 80s.
2. Some really ugly green station wagon in the mid 80s. It might have been a Cavalier.
3. An 87ish Hyundai Stellar, which as I kid I thought sort of looked like a DeLorean from the front.
4. A 93 Hyundai Excel, bought in 92 and driven until about 2001.
She now drives a Corolla and it has had regular oil changes thanks to a good relationship with a local mechanic who told her it would be a good idea.
I remember one time in the Hyundai Stellar I was with my mom when she stopped at a full-service gas station and the attendant asked if he could check the oil. He came back with his eyes bugging out saying "there is no oil in here!" My mom decided he should pour a quart in and that's the closest she came to an oil change

Sorry about this being off-topic for a G35 forum, but it's somewhat impressive that none of these cars suffered motor failure.
Usually you can go quite longer than the typical 3000K mile oil change. You can send an oil sample into Blackstone Labs and have an analysis done that will tell you how many contaiminats and metals are in your oil and help you determine the best interval to change your oil.
If you do highway miles, you can typically go longer than someone who does city miles too.

WOW I cant afford a to do an oil change on my car due to xmas. So it lies in my garage nice and warm. Not to mention i just hit 30K so add on tranny flush and diff oil change. So till spring or when the snow melts.
