questions on the 03's

Hello all, I am completely new to infiniti.. I love how the sedans and the coupes look, so i am considering on buying one of the 03's. My question is there any known problems i should be aware with the 03 sedans and coupes? I found a sedan for 11k w/ 74k miles and a coupe for 12k w/ 56k miles. Both look in pretty good condition, judging by pics only. Both are auto btw and both are from dealership. I will be making payments thats y.. I dont want a manual :\

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

-Alan

Well, there are always "problems" associated with any car. Unfortunately, the 2003 were first year of production vehicles so I'd say that they're the weakest of the line (keep in mind I'm saying this owning a 2003 one).

I'd say there are a few issues associated more commonly with the earlier models including the problems with window motors and actuators. And that's an expensive thing to fix (about $600 for a motor). That's the only real big issue and complaint I've seen. I mean, there are of course smaller issues and random ones, but it's the one standard one I see commonly.

Good luck!

No, get an 04. Although some of the smaller problems(window motor) are still there, all of the massive ones such as the one you just stated are fixed.

I echo this sentiment if you have the ability to get it financially. The 2003, obviously being the first year production, has more problems with it than any of the other years for the G35. I love my '03 but have had many issues with it. In the long run, if I did not have the undertable backing of my wonderful Infiniti dealership, would easily be out $5k that could've been invested into an '04 instead.
