low hp
What kind of dyno? What year G? Manual or auto?
That actually sounds about right if it's a low reading dyno...
If your car is really reading low for the dyno, then bolt ons will not help.

those mods will only help if you get a tune
How is it that bolt on mods can make a hp difference in domestics, camaros and such, but they dont change our cars unless we have the car retuned? Ive never understood this? I never tuned my camaro and added significant dynoed hp with basic bolt-ons? Ive heard people say that exhaust or intake wont matter w/o a tune as well, thats why I ask...
lol @ this thread...
when I see a thread of this caliber, the first thing I look at is the the post count....that pretty much sums it all up.

Mustang- 3.8L V6, 170 hp
G37- 3.7L V6, 330 hp
A tune is fine-tuning the engine specifically to fit the mods, getting the most out of them. In a domestic, it's gonna just get hp because it can breath A LOT better.
OP- Get HFC's and a tune.

That's untrue. Even with those cars you should get a tune.
Toss a CAI on a newer Mustang and you'll run slightly lean without a tune. Those who don't get a tune still get gains but not as much as they could and they run their engine with less than ideal A/F ratios.
Also, if you beleive your HP is low, you should really look for the cause rather than band-aiding it with more mods. You could be in need of a tuneup or somthing that is robbing you HP. You'd be surprised the number of times i've seen cars where the owner forks over hundreds for a dyno tune and yet the CEL is on, the fuel filter and plugs have 75K miles on it, an O2 sensor is bad, the air filter looks like he just ran the Baja 1000, and the car just isn't performing as it should irregardless of it it gets a tune or not
I would get an Mrev2, and 5/16 spacers that alone will add more HP than an intake and exhaust copmbined.
Whats the best way to get a tune for our cars that isnt going to cost an arm and a leg

Not true?? You say not true, then say they still get gains, just not as much as they could be. So it is true.... I added 100hp to my Z28 w/o ever touching my EMS, I do realize that it could have been more if I tuned the car, but thats not the point. To say its untrue that you can get gains w/o a tune is dumb.
And in my opinion, installing specific mods w/o eventually getting a proper tune is dumb.
And comparing mods for an LT1/LS1 to a VG35 is silly. You throw glue in an LS1 and you gain HP. The VQ is cranking out 280HP out of a little 3.5L V6. It's very well engineered to get those sorts of numbers. Not really much to improve on which is why you don't see the sorts of gains you do from a big mass-produced and muti-vehicle use V8.

didnt need to get a tune, the hp gains i got without were sufficient for me. Yes, they couldve been better with a tune but it wasnt needed. And if you read my post after Darkstars response, I said that completely makes sense.
