The fact that it is a completely new and reworked, higher-revving motor. The entire motor is new, and it makes A LOT more power.

^^^ wtf??? I don’t think you understood his question.

OP - the engine itself has absolutely zero difference... whether in a sedan or coupe, the DE non-reveup, rev-up, HR - they are individually the same engine, no difference just because its in a sedan or coupe.

Having that been said - I believe the ECUs were tuned different for sure... but that’s all moot since most of us that care about performance re-flash the ECU anyway.

----------------------------
why are these kinds of threads popping up again?... don’t we have enough of them in the archives? Just search people - nothing has changed.

He's asking about the hp difference between the 2007 G35 sedans vs coupes.

And did you just say that there is no difference between a DE and HR motor?

He stated in his other thread(coupe vs. sedan) that the sedan has 306hp vs. the coupes 298, so it is the 2007+ sedan he is talking about.

And seriously OP, start searching, this is basic info.

Unless he edited the original post from the time I read your response to the time I typed this = ummm no, he wasn’t asking about specific year ...

Engine for engine - DE for DE, non-revup for non-revup, HR for HR, VHR for VHR - they are the SAME ENGINE whether in the sedan or coupe – the chassis doesn’t matter… Its not rocket science

however (as I stated in previous post) factory ECU settings might differ (I believe they do).
