lowering the vehicle with a floorjack, fast or slow?

When using a floor jack to raise the car up, are you suppose to lower it fast or slow?

sometimes when jacking the car up, the wheels on the floorjack start to move is this normal? kind of scary. im afraid te wheels will slide and the car will tip off it.

it seems like everytime i lift the bar to raise the car, the wheel starts to move each and everytime.

im all for helping a newb but christ man! youve been polluting the forum all day with nonsense. if you are not mechanically inclined or do not have a bit of common sense, i reccomend taking your car to a professional. im not trying to be a dick, but you are going to wind up hurting yourself or someone else.

let the jack down slow as not to upset anything, the jack will slide away from the car as you lower it. that is normal

ok sorry guys. I was just worried about it, because I never owned a floor jack before. But when the thing started to move when i raised and lowered my car it freaked me out. I was wondering if this was normal behaviour for all floor jacks?

yes, otherwise the jacking point(pinch weld) would slip on the jack itself if the jack was not able to move.

Kid, please stop working on your car now. If you honestly cant figure out a floor jack, you are going to destory the car or kill yourself.
