Yearly Income
Asking how much G35 owners make will not explain how the mods are paid for - it depends on so much more: do they pay their own rent/mortgage? do they have school debt? is the car paid off? what is the insurance? age of owner?
After answering all of these you can get a feel for how much 'left over' cash you could spend on your G.
I'm assuming most people that have nice mods choose that over other fun hobbies, and the people who's Gs are totally decked out either know someone who cuts them a deal or they're sponsored. My .02

+1
Plus you need to know where their priorities lie. I know people who would rather spend money on their car than create a better living situation for themselves. (home, schooling, social situation, etc)
You hope people have their priorities in line..but you know some people don't. My friend has a tenant living in one of his houses with a decked out Lexus with rims and thousands of dollars in mods...and yet his rent is mostly paid by Section 8 assistance
100k Canadian.. Its alright but still doesnt get me FI yet.. lol.. Modding is ultimate expensive.. I really shop around for the parts and try to the work myself most of the time.. when I can't i have a really cheap guy.. old japanese guy he does work for cheap cheap cheap..
That's why i do ALL my own work. The only think i can't do is mount tires and do dyno testing/tuning and paint/body. Other than that, I've do everything else myself. You name it, i've done it at some point on some car.
