A/c question

So my sedan is having an issue with the a/c. Everything is nice and cool when I have it on 60, but once I bump it up to anything above that it is pure heat. Brought it in for the a/c service and recharge and my local shop couldnt fix it. They didnt charge me since they couldnt fix it, but I still dont know what is going on. Anyone have this issue before? Should I suck it up and take it to the stealership?

open or short circuit in one of your HVAC sensors. my bet is ambient air temp sensor, as that is subjected to the elements.

You are getting cold air at 60, so i don't think the problem is the actual a/c system, but more of the car's HVAC itself not functioning properly. In other words, the A/C is always cold, but the way the car blends hot and cold air to reach your set temp isn't working right.

This may not be it, but check your coolant level. On my 01 Maxima, I sprung a very small leak, and when the coolant level dropped enough, the temps went crazy. No heat with the heater on anything but full blast. Same thing for the AC.

It's worth a look.

Is this anything I can fix myself easily or should I just take it to the dealer?
