Air Intake for better sound!

Hey everyone, i am in the market looking for an intake for my car, not for performance but strictly to get a louder/ deeper growl. Most people recommend the JWT pop charger, how ever i went to a couple of vendors around Toronto and they recommend getting the AEM or K&N stuff.. so i am just wondering what you guys would suggest.

I am sure a lot of you guys have these parts installed in ur G's

which one gives a better growl in your opinion.

btw, i drive a 2004 G coupe.

I have a ztube and was running the revup airbox with a drop-in filter. Good performance, decent sound. Put a pop on this week and the sound changed for the better, performance not so much.

The sound with the JWT is slightly louder under 5000 rpm's, but incredible after that. Sounds mean!! However, I have seen a more sluggish throttle response and feel a slight loss of power with the pop compared to the stock.

The pop looks great in the engine bay by the way. Here's mine:

I don't know where I'll end up with this. I haven't had it long enough to gauge any effect on gas mileage, that might be what makes up my mind which way I will go in the future.

Hope this helps!!

the stock box pulls in fresh cool air. why would you want to sacrifice sound for heat soak?

If your question is for the OP only he can answer that. As for me I'm going through an experimentation phase and am trying different things out to see for myself if I like them or not. If I'm not happy with the JWT, I'll just sell it and move on to something different.

hmm, well yeah only drive 10 miles to work every day so i am usually never driving on the highway, definitely would love something which sounds Meaner, specially below 4000 - 5000 rpm.

However i did check out some videos for the Fujita Intake and they sound pretty damn Sweet, definitely much better than the JWT i would say.

would you guys know how hard it is to install the Fujita Intake... i think i will order one and try to install it myself. is it simple enough??

why does it seem that my mazda 3 with fujita CAI is louder than my G35 coupe with Z-tube, mrev2, and a spacer??? The G35 sounds much, much better but...I want more sound!!! I mean I can only really hear the beast at like 3,200 rpm...right where the exhaust sounds real nice. Should I scrap the z-tube and do an intake??? A little bit louder than this current setup but same exhaust sound is what Im aiming for...

I would venture to say that Fujuta is the meanest because it is a single smooth pipe with no restrictions like all the others have.
