Well the STi's reason for high insurance is due to all the young'ens that but them and drive aggressively. They are just profiled as a high risk vehicle. Best thing to do is to call your insurance provider with the vehicles VIN number and have them run the numbers for you.

Disregarding what the two cars are, the question really is whether or not this is a smart move for you to make. Only you can really be the judge of that..not a bunch of people on the internet. Can you 1.) financially afford this car. 2.) afford to modify your sole source of transportation that you and your family may be dependant on. 3.) Will it be a major distraction to you or will it not affect your ability to buy a house, potentially have children, etc.

A lot of the older (late 20's early 30's) membere here will prob say it would be wiser to save for a home, or focus on a career first, and a lot of the younger members here will say "F it, buy the car"

WHen i was 19...all i cared about was my car, so i won't preach to the choir.

But i gotta ask...married at 19? Damn, I could never do that.

First of all question was should he buy the car not what he should do with his own money in life.
Why didnt u just buy the sti to begin with?

Anyways i have a G but im so into performance than anything else that i would pick an STI or an EVO. If you want performance and want to have more fun driving just go with the STI. If you want to be comfortable, stay with your G. Although the STI does have a harsh suspension but your only 19, how much could it possibly bother your not a 40 year old guy yet who complains about every bump. Plus its was built to be a rally car, its wasnt built to be daily driven its a true race car so obviously comfort is probably the last thing they covered.. My best friend has an evo and i would take that car any day over the G, its just so much more fun to drive.

I test drove an 07 STI with less than 5k miles. Man I wanted it so bad. Cost too much though.

I then got my 05 coupe for almost half the price.

Since your 19, you probably wouldn't mind the ride. I didn't think it was bad at all.

To be honest I never noticed any, I was too caught up in the exhaust note around 3500-4500 RPM.

I would say it has roughly the same or less than the G, depends on the year. The 05/06 with the big square headlights was a little noiser than the newer ones with the triple grille. the 07/08s are pretty quiet.

I think have my years right there? I'm a heavy nissan lover so I never learn models of other *** cars.

After my G retires though I am going to be deciding between a WRX or some kind of subaru. An S2000 or another G sedan. Depends what I need when the time comes.

The butt dyno says yes. And the paper work says yes.

But I have seen them lose to Gs.... Drive it good and it'll be fast

The WRX lost me when it went to the bugeye look in '00 or '01. Before they brought the WRX here I as a huge fan and wanted to turbo a 2.5RS. But when the new look came out, it lost me. It looked like a neon.

If i were to buy a Subie, i'd get a Legacy GT. I'm past my boy racer days and these things ride pretty well and look sharp when done nice
