Thumbs down Tire Problem

imm about to roll my G35 down a clif guys lol...

here's whats going on my car was losing alot of traction
when going about 40 to 50
the car would lock up and do like a 90 spin on the road..
so this was pretty unsafe...

it happened twice.. the first time was not so bad since it was raining
i sorta let it go for a while...

so i finally had time and went down to infinti of manhattan they said my two rear tires were dead...

so i went over to some tire shop around my house and got the
N7000 FROM Nexen
245 45 ZR 18 100W m+s

i was in a rush and they told me these were good.... :/ i paid 245 for both installed.. and got them balanced and also aligned about 300 spent...

the g35 specs are 245/45R-18 96W

so after i get the nexen... when i turn @ about 30 to 40 mph's

the wheels lock up and the slipe light comes on comes on

and i can hear like something getting stuck ethier the brakes or the wheels

im taking it back to infinti of Manhattan tomorrow to get it checked out.

The issue you're having is just nuts! It will be interesting to see what Infiniti will blame on your return trip, or will they figure what's really wrong with your G? Is it possible the computer is giving incorrect signals to your traction control? Post what they find, this is nuckingfuts....

Hold on, when this happens are you driving aggressively or at a normal and sedate pace? What size tires do you have up front?

Was it $300 per tire or $300 for both?

I know one of my tires is about $300. When I had the protenza's on I did notice traction sucked but that is the nature of the tire. I went with Firestone Firehawks and even though they are thick as hell they work.

Hmm, fascinating. Wheels locking up when turning sounds like a really screwed up differential. If it's locked up, one tire will always slip in a turn. I'd love to hear the diagnosis as well.

I havent had time to really sit down and write the outcome of this...

before i start i just want to say that going to Infiniti Of Manhattan has been the biggest waste of time
ever...

with that said.. letss a go...

The following is very real and also very sad...

ok so i get the tires replaced like "Henry Borlad" Service Consultant of infiniti of Manhattan told me to do so.

i wake up nice and early on tuesday, still having a problem with the new tires..

i went over to get the new tires checked and the parts installed on the front dash and some buttons.

so when i get there henry does not even know why im there

even though i called 1 hour before letting him know i was going over there

he never called me back..

so anywho henry tells me that the parts could not be delivered cuase some elavator was not working at the dealer....

(this makes no sense, since they got a huge door which they could have just dropped the parts off and then wait till the elavator was fixed)

just back tracking a bit, my g was in an accident about a year back, the shop that was working on my car

finished when i checked out the back de fog was not working..

the button, was still good..

the shop decided to take it to infiniti of manhattan to fix the rear de fogger..

the cars comes back with the button popping out..

and now im being charged 100 dollars.. for a whole new front piece for someone infiniti of manhattan did in the first place

i dont really care cuase i was willing to pay the 100 untill henry borland just stop making sense all together.

I had told Henry Borlad that my front seat makes sounds.. he said i sat on it and did not seat and im alot heavyier then you,

and he said you know even if does make noice's your company wont replace it.. if we send out to fix your seat

we would get in trouble for fixing it cuase its not broken.

( this guy henry is a real artist )

i was like what do you mean by "my company"

he said the company you bought your service extention from..

here i am puzzled wondering what hes even talking about...

im like i did not buy any extra service extention from no company..

he said like yes you do, you gave me that paper remember?...

i said what paper.. the only extra service agreement i bought was from infiniti of massapequa..

he was like whats your last name...

he starts pulling me up....

he looks...

hes like oooo... you have a service agreement from infiniti....

lets puase for a minute

how can someone base so much information and not even know who i am or what kind of coverage i have....

his reponse from his mistaken had been "ohh same thing"

im like do they have number i can call.

he was like the secreatary will give it to you.

i told him the car is still having the same problem even after the new tires....

he said hes gonna to have a macanic drive with me so they can feel the problem better....

i was like good.

he was like come back "next tuesday"

..............................

(next tuesday you have to be kidding me.... )

after this would you go back to infinti of manhattan for service....

I have know schueduled a service appointment for infiniti of massapequa, where i bought my car.

i wanted to get my car pained but now 600 down the drain and still have the same problem i gotta wait another week now :/

lesson learned infinti of manhattan gets a -10. from me..

i love my g35.. ill probally buy another one, but when i do it sure wont be @ infinti of manhattan.

(sorry for typo and miss grammer ill fix later)

Hey guys now i need some advice i'm out of ideas....
i went to pick up my car from infinti of massapequa
they had the car for 2 days.. they replaced the circuit board infront for the radio...
they installed my new rotors, brake pads and brake lines.

so pick it up drive it back to my house all along sunrise highway... grand central pwy.
jackie robinson and then home... i took some roads twice.. the car did not seam to have the problem at all......

so after $1,200 dollars spent on this i thought i was finally good....

untill i got ready to go to work...

so i took cypress hill st... up along the cemetery ....

when i made that first right..

(google map street view)

the slip light went on i hear like something getting stuck the car locks up...

at this point... im a lil pissed...

so i get on the jackie rob going to work... the car does it... 3 more times............................................. ........................

at this point i dont think ill ever step into another infiniti service shop again

honest opinion what you guys do if you were and spent 1,200+ and still having the same problem...

should i seek a private macanic...

leave the car as is. and see how long untill something breaks somewhere...

sell the car, and buy something else.

or i dont know...

Any of the warning lights on? ABS or anything??

When the slip light comes on, does the brake light chatter like the ABS is kicking in? I'm thinking of of the ABS wheel sensors has an intermittent problem. I had something similar happen on another car and it turned out a rock somehow damaged the ABS sensor magnet so it was slightly bent. I had the traction control come on randomly when just driving triggering the ABS is the rear wheels and locking the car up when just doing 5-10MPH or so. I replaced the wheel speed sensor (after seeing it damaged) and problem solved.

The problem is the sensor is still intact so it doesn't signal a fault in the ABS system, however it cannot read the speed correctly since it is damaged so it behaves like that. I'd def look into inspecting and cleaning the rear speed sensors

OoOoOk sorry been busy working,,, according to the mechanic i hired, he said
the wheel bearing and one of the sensors is not working

this is probably gonna cost me another 300 bucks...

the guy @ infiniti of mass... said something about the wheel bearing but its funny how they did not even fix it...

lets hope that this finally fixes my problem..

If it's anything to you, depending on when you bought your car and how much warranty is left on it, you can file it under the lemon law. They'll get the problem fixed, get your money back and possibly get you a little more. Just an opinion.
