Just to clear up the confusion:
Basic: 4 yr. / 60,000 mi.
Drivetrain: 6 yr. / 70,000 mi.
Roadside: 4 yr. / 60,000 mi.
Rust: 7 yr. / Unlimited mi.
One of the most important considerations in buying a used vehicle is whether the original manufacturer warranties are still in effect or whether, based on the age or mileage of the vehicle, the manufacturers' warranties have expired (or will soon expire). Normally, the drive train warranty provided by the manufacturer will have a longer term than the "basic" warranty, i.e. the warranty that covers the rest (namely, "most") of the vehicle.

You'll have to diagnose the reason for overheating before determining warranty or not.
It's possible it's covered under the Power Train, but it depends on what the cause is. Thermostat won't be covered because it's a wear item, but the water pump probably will be covered. If it's the radiator, it's definitely not covered.
My guess is corrosion affect the east coast region more than west coast which is in a warmer climate?
maybe... but the extended warranty (to 10 yrs) covers all regions... I live in coastal So Cal and I got the letter.
