I use Castrol Syntec and it works great. No need to change, and I'm glad to see these results. Makes me like it even more!

i'm not saying m1 isn't a good oil, it's fine, and i ran it forever in my se-r

but from the tests, it's clear syntec just performs better, under the exact same driving conditions and the same exact engine, the wear levels were lower and there were higher levels of anti-wear additives.

considering m1 and syntec cost the same, i think syntec is the way to go

Different weight oils work better in areas like yours where the winter temp dips well below freezing. When you consider summer driving you would be better off just using what Nissan recommends 5W/30 all year.

I have always used castrol syn. my car loves it. Recently just tried that castrol syn. gold bottle and my car just feels stronger... this is all on butt dyno.

not the extended performance or advanced fuel economy, just the regular synthetic

ok so we can conclude that

Castrol Syntec 5W-30 > Mobil 1 5W-30?

I live in FL like the OP so Ill have similar temps.
