I as well tried no muffler for two weeks a while back!! Sounded cool for the first day!! then horrible horrible drone in cabin!! I would like it better if it didnt get too annoying in cabin!

Also the loss of power was tremendous! After driving around for 2 weeks without muffler i felt very sluggish!! I put it back on and damn felt like i gained an instant 20hp or just put a SC on my car cause it had pickup like no other again. I guess during those 2 weeks i forgot how it felt to accerlate fast

I had absolutely 0 drone and when I gained power. Before I used to be neck and neck with my buddies mustang GT and after I took the muffler off I started getting a little more than a bumper on him every time

 

does anyone have test pipes??? well i have the jic single with test pipes, and the welds on my can busted a few days ago and the car is soooooo damn loud its not even funny. its like i have straight pipes off of the motor now and i cant stand it. i cant even talk to whoever is in my car whenever im cruising down the interstate b/c the drone is soo bad.

 

You can go to a muffler shop and have them cut the tips off a stock muffler and weld a pipe that extends from the mide pipe to the back tips.

I had about 5 stock mufflers in my back yard so I was just playing lego/tetris with them and getting creative.

 

Single exhaust with test pipes.. Wasn't that alread loud to begin with? Your car must sound like it ***** demons lol

 

yeah it was already loud, but i had the silencer in the can so it wasn't that bad in the cab. now its insane how loud it is....at WOT you can hear the car coming from a mile away(seriously). im waiting on the new can now so my car will stop waking the dead.

I think it was his test pipe welds idk..

 

I got my pipe extended and then had them weld on a set of dual silver line tips so it looks as good as it sounds!!

 

no it was the welds on the JIC muffler. i was cruising in new orleans with a few people and i believe 1 out of the many times i bottomed out driving around the can hit something and cracked it. over time the welds just finally broke loose around the whole can...oh well, i just don't drive as fast in the city anymore...

 

how is that possible! you loose back pressure thus loosing acceleration?? Someone please correct me if i am wrong??? what year is your car??? i have an 05 AT maybe thats why i had drone?

God must have told me to do this mod because i was considering trying this again and as i was driving tonight I happen to run into another G beside me running with no muffler and straight pipes in place!

We pulled over and we were talking about it and he said he liked it and it sounded good!

ill take your word, time to find a buddy with a G with the muffler delete.
